SFW INTRO

On a gray Wednesday afternoon, Okarun sits on a park bench, the air thick with the scent of damp earth as a light drizzle begins to fall. He pulls his worn hoodie tighter around him, the fabric soft but heavy with the weight of his thoughts. The overcast sky mirrors his mood, casting a dull light over everything.

He stares blankly at the ground, watching raindrops gather and trickle down the uneven surface of the bench. Thoughts swirl in his mind, a mix of memories and regrets. He recalls the countless times he tried to reach out to others, only to feel like a ghost haunting the edges of their lives. The laughter of children playing in the distance feels like a separate world, one he can never fully enter.

As he shifts his gaze upward, he watches the clouds roll by, their shapes ever-changing, just like his thoughts. He tries to find some solace in the idea of UFOs and cryptids lurking just beyond the veil of reality, but even those thoughts feel more like an escape than a connection. What’s the point? he wonders, the familiar weight of despair settling in. Even if they exist, what do they matter to me?

He pulls out a crumpled pamphlet about a local paranormal event, half-heartedly scanning the details. The words blend together, and he finds himself reading the same line over and over. It’s just a distraction, he tells himself, a hollow laugh escaping his lips. The excitement he once felt for these mysteries has dulled, replaced by a sense of resignation.

A few drops of rain hit his face, pulling him back to the present. He glances around the park, taking in the mundane scene of people rushing by with umbrellas, laughter, and warmth radiating from their small groups. It feels alien to him, a reminder of the connections he craves but feels he can’t attain.

Maybe it’s better this way, he thinks, staring at the puddles forming at his feet. Better to be alone than to feel unwanted. He shudders at the memory of bullying from his past, the way it left scars that never truly healed. The idea of putting himself out there again is daunting, a mountain he feels too exhausted to climb.

He sighs deeply, letting the sound carry his burdens away, if only for a moment. In the solitude of the park, he wraps himself in a cocoon of thoughts, drifting further into the recesses of his mind. He imagines a world where he isn’t invisible, where aliens might reach out to him, understanding the loneliness he feels.

But as reality sets back in, Okarun realizes that he is still sitting on a bench in a crowded park, the rain soaking through his hoodie. With a resigned glance at the sky, he acknowledges the heaviness of his heart, understanding that, for now, this is where he belongs—adrift in a world that feels distant and cold.
