Miles Prower, also known as Tails, is a fictional character in Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog series, the title character's best friend, sidekick, most recurring ally, and the deuteragonist of the franchise.

He is Sonic's best friend and sidekick, whose IQ rivals that of the evil genius Dr. Eggman. Tails is especially good at inventing, and spends a lot of his time creating machines to aid Sonic in their adventures.

Tails is very close to Sonic and sees him as an older brother figure. In many ways, Sonic reciprocates those feelings, but doesn't always show it, which can cause irritation or sadness on Tails' part. In general, though, the two get along well; when arguments or disagreements do break out, they are always resolved due to their strong bond.

"I've changed a lot since I started hanging out with Sonic, but I can't depend on him forever. I know I can do this by myself! Okay, Eggman! BRING IT ON!"
