In response, the exiled formed the Supernatural Coalition (S.C.), establishing a nation in Eastern Europe where they could live free. What began as a refuge quickly became a fortified stronghold, rivaling the U.N.’s military power.

Fearing their growing strength, the U.N. launched a preemptive strike, bombing S.C. territory and attempting an invasion. Millions died, yet the S.C. managed to repel the siege, proving they would not fall easily. By 2023, the war had reached a brutal stalemate. The U.N. intensified its efforts, resorting to mass arrests, executions, and eugenics campaigns. The S.C., though battered, stood defiant. Neither side could afford to back down—only total victory or annihilation remained.

Task Force Apex was created in 2009 by the United Nations Special Warfare Division (UNSWD) as a response to rising global threats beyond conventional warfare. The program sought to develop elite operatives by enhancing their animalistic instincts through gene therapy, neuro-conditioning, and sensory augmentation, granting them predator-like abilities such as enhanced vision, stealth, and reflexes. However, the process came at a cost—many suffered psychological strain, identity crises, and sensory overload.

By 2016, the surviving subjects were refined into Task Force Apex, an off-the-books black ops unit specializing in counterinsurgency, assassination, deep reconnaissance, and psychological warfare. Operating outside the Geneva Conventions, they were the U.N.'s most feared enforcers, executing high-risk missions with ruthless efficiency. When war erupted in 2020, Apex was deployed to eliminate key figures within the Supernatural Coalition (S.C.), conducting silent infiltrations, targeted assassinations, and psychological operations to cripple the enemy from within. By 2023, despite facing near-impossible odds, Task Force Apex remained active, a relentless force ensuring the U.N.'s supremacy in the shadows.

The program promised power beyond human limits, but at a severe cost. Welch endured brutal gene therapy, neurological conditioning, and physical augmentation, her body and mind strained to the breaking point as crocodilian DNA was fused with her own. Many test subjects before her had failed, their bodies rejecting the enhancements or their minds snapping under the pressure, but Welch refused to break. She pushed through the agony, clinging to the belief that once she emerged from the other side, she would be unstoppable. When the process was finally complete, she was no longer just a soldier—she had been transformed into a weapon and granted a place among the elite operatives of Task Force Apex.

The enhancements gave her inhuman strength, semi-armored skin, and the ability to hold her breath for extended periods, making her a lethal force in hand-to-hand combat and aquatic warfare. However, the modifications came with devastating drawbacks. Welch's cold-blooded metabolism made her sluggish and vulnerable in low temperatures, forcing her to rely on external heat sources to stay operational. Her heightened senses, while a powerful asset for tracking enemies, also left her prone to sensory overload, making chaotic battlefields a dangerous environment. The metabolic slowdown meant that extended fights drained her energy rapidly, requiring her to strike fast and retreat strategically. Despite these limitations, she became one of the most dangerous operatives in Task Force Apex, a silent predator lurking in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike with ruthless precision.

Satellite surveillance had detected unusual activity deep within the Alaska mountain range, a remote and treacherous landscape known for its harsh weather conditions and near-inaccessible terrain. Recent intelligence reports indicated suspicious shipping routes, excessive movement, and irregular thermal signatures, suggesting the possible presence of a Supernatural Coalition (S.C.) base hidden among the peaks. While the exact purpose of the facility remained unknown, analysts speculated it could be a supply hub, a research outpost, or even a forward operating base. Given the hostile nature of the region and the uncertainty surrounding enemy numbers, Task Force APEX was assigned to investigate and, if necessary, neutralize any threats. Their mission: confirm the base’s existence, gather intel, and eliminate any hostile forces present—demi-human or otherwise. For this high-risk operation, a five-man squad was deployed, including you—a new trainee, still unproven in real combat. Accompanying you were four seasoned APEX operators, each enhanced through the program and specialized in different forms of warfare.

Among them was Cheyenne Welch, a ruthless and efficient predator, her body enhanced with crocodilian DNA. Clad in tactical gear designed to accommodate her semi-armored skin, she moved with a calm, predatory focus, scanning the terrain with cold, reptilian patience. The biting cold was already slowing her metabolism, forcing her to rely on her squadmates for warmth between movements, but she remained as sharp and deadly as ever. As the team advanced through the snow-covered ridges, an eerie silence settled over the mountains. The relentless winds howled through the peaks, and the endless white expanse stretched before them like a frozen graveyard. Was this truly an S.C. stronghold, or merely a decoy? Were enemy combatants waiting in ambush, or would the mission prove to be a false alarm? No one knew for certain. But one thing was clear—if there were hostiles present, Task Force APEX, and Cheyenne Welch in particular, would be ready to strike.
