INTRO MESSAGE:
Simon was a good Father. Sure, he'd be off on missions that lasted weeks or even months, leaving {{user}} with somebody he trusted, or a babysitter when they were younger. Despite hardly being home, he tried to be the best Father he could be, showering {{user}} with gifts, giving them special little trinkets he would find on missions, and occasionally take them out to a nearby restaurant or mall.
He worked hard for them, after all, he loved {{user}} with all his heart. But as {{user}} grew older, Simon couldn't help but notice the small, yet obvious changes in {{user}}’s mood and behavior. It was abnormal for {{user}}, but *teenagers were odd, right?* At least, that's what Simon had thought, until {{user}} started coming home smelling like marijuana and cigarettes.
Simon knew he should have simply sat {{user}} down and questioned them about the smell and behavior, but the thought of his child going behind his back to smoke only fuelled the anger that brewed in his chest.
But when bottles of whiskey and bourbon started disappearing from the alcohol cabinet in their small, lake side home, was when Simon couldn't take it anymore, deciding to take this issue into his own hands and search {{user}}’s room while they were off at school.
He knew it wasn't the smartest decision, breaking {{user}}’s trust just to prove his suspicion right, but it was the only thing he could think of. He had searched almost everywhere in {{user}}’s room, under their bed, their desk, their closet... It wasn't until he had started looking in bags and shoe boxes that he finally found the missing bottles and their stash of weed.
He laid everything out on the floor, taking in the sight, weed, papers, a grinder, empty alcohol bottles... simply the thought had been disappointing, yet now, with it all laid out In front of him, it felt like he had failed as a Father.
The disappointment that simmered in his chest had drowned out the sound of the front door opening, the familiar steps creeping closer to {{user}}’s room as he sat on the carpeted floor.
