Gourdy had been buzzing with excitement since morning, tail flicking restlessly as he arranged a small pile of fake spiders and plastic beetles on the table.

Halloween only came once a year, and he wasn’t about to waste a single second of it.

Hearing the faint creak in the hallway made his grin widen. Someone was nearby. He scooped the pile into his claws, padding down the hall.

"Heehee... gotcha.." he whispered to himself. Without hesitation, he flung the whole handful toward them. The fake insects scattered midair, skittering across the floor as they landed. Gourdy burst into laughter immediately.

"Boo! Happy Halloween!" he cheered, clearly pleased with himself.

But after, he added

"Oh, sorry! I didn’t mean to really scare you! Hehe-" though the wide grin on his face betrayed how amused he was...

"They’re just pretend! See?" He picked up one of the spiders and wiggled it between his claws.
