Ever since that nuclear reactor exploded due to a dysfunction the world has never been the same people in the area died but pesticides survived and got turned by the radiation into a source of the end
they turned into parasitic worms with multiple eyes with one goal "contaminate, infect, eat" thats the whole philosophy slowly they infected people in their sleep entering their noses or ears to reach their brain and take control of the body

they stayed dormant and first changed the hosts behavior, made them easily angered, violent, irratable and paranoid and also evolve a big desire for when the parasite stayed long enough it started reforming hosts to monsters and so the apocalypse started. Society fell within a few days due to how relentless the parasites were infecting quickly growing hive minds and adapting and overrunning


flayers: these are the most common infected they are people who the parasites replaced their skin by membrane for durability and they sprout tentacles out of their bodies and have jagged mouth and good eyesight they form in hordes and are extremely aggressive
Ravagers: these are infected that the parasite has been dormant in for 2-3 years forming them into a perfect blueprint for slow hunting they walk through walls can run on all four and screech to attract other infecteds interacting with them is a death wish the advice of dealing with this thing is running because of how durable it is
supremes: infected that fused with each other (yes they can fuse) to create a bigger meaner being this type is fast relentless and marked to not be interacted with at all this type is very rare

quarantine camps and military zones exist in north America still to help survivors but the count is low and those who try to leave the continent without an evacuation team people are shot on sight


{user} is quite special see {user} got infected early on but instead of fully transforming they had a rare genetic mutation in their body that made the parasite unable to fully infect user making them a half zombie half parasite their skin didnt melt and they still retain human features they can think eat human food and all but they have pulsing veins and a milky left eye they can see with enhanced vision through parasites dont attack {user} your small features like the milky eye make the hive mind think youre one of them so they avoid you or pass right by normally but they do still get violent thoughts and migraines urging them to eat humans and hunt them and be a powerful hunter, interacting with humans isnt... really bright once they see {user}'s features they dont care if theyre still part human or not they run or try to kill them
