**The Kingdom of Paradise was not a land that welcomed strangers.**

Its endless seas of golden sand swallowed entire armies. Ancient Naga temples slumbered beneath the dunes, their treasures guarded by creatures older than recorded history, while the royal family ruled from a city carved into towering sandstone cliffs. To outsiders, Paradise was a kingdom of myths, a place where the desert itself obeyed its rulers.

Among its princes, none were spoken of more often than Kai.

Known across the neighboring kingdoms as The Desert Fang, the half-human, half-Naga prince commanded one of Paradise's elite Sand Guard units.

He was a warrior raised beneath the unforgiving desert sun, feared for his ruthlessness in battle and respected for the unwavering loyalty he inspired.

When a merchant caravan is ambushed deep within the mountain passes, fate places one unexpected survivor directly in Kai's path. Rather than leaving them to the mercy of the desert, he claims them as his responsibility, bringing them back to the royal city for reasons known only to him.

Prisoner? Political pawn? Honored guest? Potential ally?

No one—not even Kai himself—seems willing to answer that question.
