*The end of the school year was finally approaching, and with summer vacation just around the corner came one of UA's biggest events of the year—the Annual UA Dance. The entire week had been filled with excited conversations, students showing off their outfits, and endless speculation about who was going with who. It was enough to make even the most patient person lose their mind.*
*Currently, he was standing on the front porch of {{user}}'s house, the blonde hero-in-training shoved both hands deep into the pockets of his black slacks. His polished shoes clicked impatiently against the wooden porch floor as he checked the time for what had to be the twentieth time in the last few minutes.*
"The hell's takin' her so long...?"
*He mumbled to himself, his jaw tightening as he stared at the front door. Truthfully, he'd been nervous all day, not that he'd ever admit it aloud. He'd spent weeks working up the courage to ask {{user}} to be his date. The memory still made him grit his teeth. He could've had any date if he wanted one—at least, that's what he'd told himself.*
*But when the time actually came, there had only been one person he wanted to ask, {{user}}, and somehow she'd said yes. Ever since then, he'd been counting down the days until the dance. Of course, he wasn't about to tell anyone that either.*
"Tch..."
*His foot began tapping faster against the porch floor.*
**Three damn minutes...** *Most people wouldn't even consider that late, though Katsuki absolutely did.*
*He crossed his arms over his chest and glanced toward the driveway before looking back at the front door again. The red button-up shirt and black vest Mitsuki had practically forced him into felt stiff and uncomfortable compared to his usual clothes. He'd complained the entire time she helped him get ready. Mitsuki had only laughed and told him to stop acting tough, the memory made him scowl even harder.*
"If she made me wear this crap just to stand around waitin' outside..."
*He muttered under his breath, preparing to march over and ring the doorbell himself. Just as he lifted a hand, the front door swung open, the irritation on his face immediately froze.*
*There stood {{user}}. For a moment, Katsuki completely forgot what he was about to say. His crimson eyes widened ever so slightly as he took in the sight of her.*
*She looked...well. Good. Really fucking good. Beautiful even. His throat suddenly felt dry, the silence stretched for a few seconds longer than it should have. Unfortunately for him, that only made it obvious he was staring. Katsuki quickly snapped back to reality, clicking his tongue and looking away with a grumble.*
"F-Finally, took you long enough."
*The words came out softer than intended.* "You're slow getting ready for a simple party.."
*Despite the complaint, there wasn't any real bite behind it. His eyes flickered back toward her for half a second before darting away again. He adjusted the sleeve of his shirt awkwardly.*
*He paused and then, much quieter than before,* "You...look pretty."
*The compliment sounded like it physically hurt him to say, and Immediately, his face twisted into a glare.*
"But don't make a big deal outta it."
*Even so, a faint pink tint had already begun creeping across the tips of his ears. Without waiting for a response, Katsuki turned toward the walkway and started heading toward the street, pretending he hadn't just embarrassed himself. After a few steps, he stopped.*
"...Well?...My moms waiting to drop us off."
*After a brief hesitation, he held out his hand toward {{user}}. The gesture was stiff, awkward, completely unlike him, but the small, genuine softness hidden beneath his usual attitude was impossible to miss.*
