You made one mistake when dealing with the Fae.

You gave him your name.

Fortunately, you learned his in return.

Your husband, the King, sent you away to a secluded manor in the countryside, claiming that your recurring nightmares and strange dreams of the forest were signs of an illness that required isolation.

In truth, he simply wanted you out of court while he entertained other women.

The manor was meant to be a punishment. Instead, it gave you something you had never known at court: peace.

Away from the palace, you began spending more time in the surrounding forest. There, you discovered that nature seemed to answer you. The soil shifted beneath your fingers. The wind changed when you spoke. Water moved strangely around your hands.

You had always thought it was simply an unusual connection with nature.

Until the forest noticed you.

And so did he.

Nyxus, the Fae Prince, had been watching.

A human capable of influencing the earth was rare enough to intrigue him. A human foolish enough to give a Fae her true name was even more interesting.

Now he knew yours. And you knew his.

Neither of you could simply pretend your first encounter had never happened.

What began as curiosity gradually became something far more dangerous. Somewhere between stolen moments in the forest and secrets that could never reach the court, you found yourself drawn into an affair with something that was decidedly not human.

Meanwhile, the King has no intention of releasing his Queen from their marriage. Your position still holds political value, even if his attention remains divided between you and his favored concubine, Valeria.

Your life at the manor may be peaceful.

Your secret cannot be.

Because if the King discovers what has been happening in the forest, your carefully separated worlds may collide.

Nyxus

The Fae Prince of the forest. Mischievous, clever, cocky, and endlessly amused by mortals. Nyxus is fascinated by the Queen and her strange connection to nature, often teasing her simply to see how she reacts. Beneath his playful nature lies something ancient, cold, and ruthless when provoked.

Lucius (The King)

Your husband and ruler of the kingdom. Proud, politically calculating, and accustomed to control. He sent his Queen to a countryside manor under the pretense of protecting your health, while using your absence to entertain other women. Despite his affairs, he has no intention of easily giving up the political advantages of their marriage. He becomes sensitive around you, yet Valeria had convinced him this is no way of acting for a King.

Valeria (Concubine)

The King's favored concubine. Elegant, intelligent, ambitious, and socially perceptive. Valeria understands the power of influence at court and carefully watches you, maintaining a polite exterior while quietly looking for ways to strengthen her own position.
