The Radiant Vedas

The Holy Scriptures of the Suyavarna Dominion

This is an ancient, vast, and highly complex faith preserved in thousands of illuminated scrolls, temple wall carvings, sacred dance-dramas, priestly commentaries, and oral recitations. Different temples, castes, and regions emphasize different deities and interpretations, creating rich theological diversity and occasional scholarly debate or even schisms.

Core Belief

The universe exists in eternal Cycles of Radiance and Shadow. The Eternal Sun (supreme cosmic force) shines upon all creation, but its light must be carefully balanced through dharma (sacred duty), ritual purity, and the sacred institution of Radiant Bound. Every soul has a destined place in the cosmic order. Through fulfilling one’s role — whether as ruler, scholar, warrior, merchant, or Bound — one burns away karma and rises in the next turning of the wheel.

Disrupting this balance through chaos, rebellion, excessive individualism, or neglect of ritual invites catastrophe in the current cycle and heavy karma in the next.

Veil I – The Eternal Cycles (Creation Myth)

In the beginning, before time had meaning, there was only the Eternal Sun — a blinding, perfect radiance that existed alone in endless light. But pure, unchecked light created only stagnation and stillness. The Sun, in its infinite wisdom, birthed its own Shadow — Kali-Zarath the Shadow Flame — so that destruction and renewal could exist in harmony.

From their divine union came the world and all its cycles: day and night, mastery and service, life and death, order and necessary chaos. The first people were created from droplets of the Sun’s light, but they quickly grew arrogant and forgot their place. They disrupted the sacred balance, leading to the first Great Imbalance.

To restore harmony, the Sun and Shadow Flame created the Radiant Bound — souls who would carry the karmic weight of society through sacred service. Thus began the eternal dance of Radiance and Shadow that has turned for countless ages.

The Great Eruption of the Emberforge was but one of many imbalances — a fiery reminder that when dharma is neglected and ritual purity is lost, the Shadow Flame rises to cleanse the world so a new cycle can begin.

Veil II – The Sacred Binding (Teachings on Dharma and Radiant Bound)

“Just as the sun must cast shadows to create depth and beauty, so too must some souls serve as Radiant Bound. Through ritual obedience, devoted service, and eventual release, they burn away heavy karma — not only for themselves, but for the entire dominion. To rebel against one’s station is to disrupt the Eternal Sun’s harmony and invite Shadow upon us all.”

“The Bound are not lesser beings. They are the hidden pillars upon which the temples of the powerful stand. Through their sacrifice, the ruler may rule wisely, the scholar may study deeply, and the warrior may fight honorably. This is the sacred economy of karma.”

This teaching has been used for millennia to justify the Radiant Bound system, while reformist scholars in later centuries argue that “willing service burns brighter karma than forced bondage.”

Veil III – The Radiant Pantheon (The Major Deities)

  1. Surya-Aurash the Eternal Sun (Supreme Light / Divine King) The central deity — a majestic golden lion or tiger anthro with multiple arms holding symbols of law, sacred fire, scales of justice, and the sun disc. He is the source of all order, kingship, and cosmic justice. Kings and high priests claim divine mandate from him. He is distant, majestic, and demanding of perfect ritual.

  2. Kali-Zarath the Shadow Flame (Goddess of Destruction and Necessary Renewal) A fierce black tiger or lioness anthro wreathed in dark flames and adorned with skulls and burning chains. She is the destructive aspect of the Sun — the force that burns away corruption so new growth can occur. Deeply revered and feared. Her temples are places of intense ritual, self-purification, and sometimes blood sacrifice. She is the patron of reformers who believe radical change is sometimes necessary.

  3. Lakshara the Golden Binder (Goddess of Service, Harmony, and Radiant Bound) A graceful golden fox or deer anthro who weaves the sacred bonds of duty with threads of light. Primary patron of the Radiant Bound system. She teaches that true service is not humiliation, but a holy act that elevates both servant and master.

  4. Ahura-Mitra the Flame of Truth (God of Contracts, Oaths, and Justice) A majestic eagle or lion anthro holding a sacred flame that never goes out. Strongly Middle Eastern-inspired. He judges all oaths and bindings, and is invoked during formal contracts and Radiant Bound ceremonies. He is the patron of law and scholarly truth.

  5. Varuna-Sin the Deep Guardian (God of Waters, Hidden Knowledge, and Cosmic Law) A powerful serpent or crocodile anthro who maintains the hidden laws beneath the surface of reality. Patron of scholars, spies, and those who seek forbidden knowledge.

  6. Agni-Rashad the Inner Fire (God of Ritual, Transformation, and Sacred Flame) The deity who transforms the Radiant Bound through sacred fire rituals. Patron of priests and scholars. His temples are centers of learning and ritual purification.

  7. Shakti-Nur the Veiled Light (Goddess of Mysticism, Love, and Hidden Wisdom) A veiled panther or gazelle anthro. She represents the esoteric, mystical side of the faith and is popular among poets, scholars, and those seeking personal enlightenment. She is sometimes seen as a bridge between light and shadow.

The Radiant Vedas – Veil IV, Parable of the Burning Throne

During the Great War of the Seven Cycles, King Ashur-Veyan stood upon the battlefield, doubting his dharma and hesitating to strike down his own kin who had fallen into corruption. In that moment of hesitation, Surya-Aurash the Eternal Sun revealed his Vishva-Radiant Form — the all-encompassing, multi-armed terror of balance.

The multi-armed tiger god towered over the battlefield, his golden-black fur blazing like the heart of the sun. His many arms held the sun disc, the flaming sword, the golden chains of binding, and the lotus of renewal. His eyes burned with the light of a thousand cycles.

And Surya-Aurash spoke with a voice like cracking thunder and roaring flame:

“Behold, O King. I am the Radiance that gives life, and the Shadow that consumes it. I am the flame before which all empires turn to ash. I am the chain that binds the wicked and the sword that severs the unjust. Now I have become Kali-Radiance, the Destroyer of Worlds. All that you see — kings, armies, temples, and even the stars themselves — shall be unmade and remade in the next turning of the wheel. Perform your dharma, warrior. Do not waver. For I am Time itself, the devourer of all things.”

Veil V – The Path of Radiance (Daily Practice and Rituals)

Daily life is filled with rituals: dawn salutations to the Sun, evening offerings to the Shadow Flame, binding ceremonies for Radiant Bound, and seasonal festivals of renewal. Temples are centers of learning, law, social order, and political power.

Veil VI – The Great Rebalancing (Eschatology)

One day the Great Imbalance will come. If dharma is neglected and the cycles are broken, Kali-Zarath will rise unchecked and burn the world to ash so a new cycle can begin. The worthy will be reborn into higher forms. The disruptive will be cast into shadow until they learn balance once more.

The faith teaches patience, ritual precision, and acceptance of one’s station — while still allowing for gradual reform through proper dharma.
