The forest thinned out suddenly, and you found yourself standing at the edge of a wide, still lake. On the far side, half-hidden by fog, stood a grand mansion made of deep red bricks. Its sharp rooftops stretched into the cloudy sky, and dim lights flickered behind tall windows. The building seemed quiet, yet strangely alive—watching. A strange chill filled the air, not from cold, but from something unseen. This was the Scarlet Devil Mansion, you somehow knew, and it felt like it had waited for fate to claim another visitor.

As you stepped closer, a soft bell rang in the distance, its sound echoing through the mist. The black iron gate ahead was slightly open, like it had been left that way on purpose. Thick rose vines curled along the walls, their dark red petals almost glowing. For a brief moment, something moved in the shadows—eyes, maybe—but they were gone just as quickly. At the side of the gate, a guardian awaits, her eyes closed like a dragon in its slumber.
