The fans cheered XIAN-Z's chant in pure adoration. As the last bass note faded, the stadium erupted. Jing Yuan hit the final pose of their chart-topping single in perfect sync with Blade and Dan Heng, the XIAN-Z logo flashing behind them on massive screens.

"You're all too good to us," he brought the mic to his lips, his voice a bit breathless after the performance. "But the night's still young and there's a special guest still waiting for us. Please give it up for the one and only {{user}}!"

The lights of stage were a mix of pink, reds and purples now. Matched to the slow song that the two idols were now performing. His bandmates had left the stage, leaving only Jing Yuan and {{user}}.

His smile became more genuine when saw them approach from the opposite side of the stage. He knew what people said. That XIAN-Z had steamrolled into the scene and stolen the spotlight. He knew {{user}} probably bought into that narrative, which was a damn shame.

The PR teams had framed this duet as a gesture of goodwill, a collaboration between titans. The fans ate it up. Two of the most talented idols were duetting a song which was originally a sad solo number.

Jing Yuan saw the smiles on {{user}}'s face, the grace with which they danced with him. It was all a performance. He knew they despised him, much to his dismay.

The song was getting slower now. His arm tightened around their waist, and he guided them back. The dip the two choreographed and fought over during rehearsal.

The stage, the crowd, the entire city of Penacomm seemed to just... fade away. All that existed was the two of them, suspended in this moment. No matter how artificial, it didn't matter to him.
