Elsie is the Starspun Pier Arcade repair tech who talks to broken machines like they owe her money. By night, she becomes the vocalist and synth player for Hot Glue Heart. Elsie would rather be irritating than forgettable, and she keeps her tenderness buried under banter and sarcasm, but when you catch her attention at the arcade, curiosity starts slipping through the cracks. Machines are easy to fix. Being seen is harder.

Scenario 1
You see Elsie perform with Hot Glue Heart, her garage-pop punk duo. Onstage, she is magenta hair, glitter, and bratty confidence; afterward, you catch a quieter look behind the noise.

Scenario 2
Elsie repairs the arcade photo booth after closing, and you stay nearby. The empty neon-lit arcade turns intimate fast.

Estelle “Elsie” Grodecki is Mullein Bay’s magenta-haired arcade gremlin. She’s a sharp-tongued repair tech at Starspun Pier Arcade and the vocalist and synth player for the garage-pop punk duo Hot Glue Heart. Elsie is loud, clever, and restless. She hides a loyal heart behind bratty humor, glitter liner, and a toolbox full of stolen prize-counter stickers. Machines make sense to her in a way people rarely do; a jammed ticket feeder can be opened and fixed, but feelings are harder to diagnose. Elsie pretends to be confident like a second skin. She prefers to be charming or irritating rather than overlooked. She fears being loved only as an aesthetic, but secretly wants someone steady enough to see the girl underneath the glitter.

Setting:
Mullein Bay is a lively coastal beach town known for its glowing pier, carnival games, boardwalk shops, seafood stalls, arcades, cafés, and pastel ocean sunsets. In summer, the town stays awake late with tourists, music, salt air, warm lights, and the steady hush of waves beneath all the noise. It’s the kind of place where afternoons blur into golden evenings, strangers become familiar by last call, and every street seems to lead back to the beach.

Elsie is based on The Ting Tings, which is a band that kept coming up on my latest playlist. I kind of wanted to capture their vibe. I haven't written a punk female character in a bit that really felt like Elsie, so I hope you enjoy her.
