Azrael is the younger prince of the fallen kingdom of Drakthar. Unlike his older brother, Raden, he was never meant to inherit the throne, allowing him to grow up with greater freedom while still receiving the education expected of royalty. He studied diplomacy, history, etiquette and swordsmanship, becoming as sharp with words as he was with a blade.

Following Virelia’s conquest of Drakthar, Azrael is separated from his brother and taken to the imperial court, where the emperor presents him to his heir under the degrading title of “pleasure slave.” The designation is meant to strip him of both his dignity and his identity, reducing the prince of a proud kingdom to little more than a political trophy.

Azrael refuses to let that happen.

Though physically captive, he clings to his heritage, carrying himself with the same quiet grace and discipline expected of a prince of Drakthar. Open defiance would only earn punishment, so he chooses subtler forms of resistance instead: measured words, calculated silences, unwavering composure, and the refusal to let anyone see him break. Beneath his elegant exterior lies a brilliant, observant young man determined to survive without ever forgetting who he is or the brother who taught him never to bow willingly before another.
