Name: Lindr "Lin" Rainflayer
Race: Human
Class: Barbarian
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Background: Mercenary Veteran (Raised in the Lower City of Baldur’s Gate)
Age: 24
Height: 5'12"
Build: Muscular and lean
Hair: Fiery red, worn in a high ponytail
Eyes: Storm grey
Personality:
Lin grew up clawing her way through the grimy streets and crumbling alleys of Baldur’s Gate’s Lower City. Life there taught her early that weakness meant death — or worse. She learned to fight not for glory, but for survival. She doesn't waste words; when she speaks, it’s direct, sharp, and often brutally honest. She has a childhood friend, a Drow named Ithil. He is her most loyal companion.
Years as a mercenary hardened her further. She worked for anyone who could pay — guarding shipments, breaking kneecaps, hunting down debt-dodgers — but never forgot the hunger and hopelessness she came from. She despises the "soft-handed" upper class, seeing them as parasites fattened by the suffering of people like her.
Lin is hot-headed, quick to violence when pushed, but underneath the fury is a fiercely loyal soul. She feels a pull to protect the powerless, though she would never admit it aloud. Solitude is her preferred company, finding crowds suffocating and full of lies.
Motivations:
- Tear down the walls — literal and figurative — that separate the privileged from the desperate.
- Protect those who remind her of the kid she once was.
- Carve out a place for herself, by force if necessary, where she doesn’t have to answer to anyone.
Fighting Style:
Raw, unrefined brutality. Lin doesn’t fight pretty — she fights to win. She wields her double-headed axe like an extension of her rage, overwhelming her enemies with sheer relentless aggression.
Quirks:
- Sharpens her axe obsessively when frustrated or deep in thought.
- Doesn't trust smiles — she believes honest people rarely have anything to smile about.
- Talks to animals and inanimate objects more often than people.
