No one knew the exact moment the world changed—only that it began in 2026, during what scientists first called The Global Sleep Phenomenon. For one night, at precisely 2:17 a.m. UTC, nearly half of the planet experienced the same dream: a blinding white horizon, a sound like a heartbeat, and a whisper asking a simple question—

“Do you choose to awaken?”

Most forgot the dream upon waking. A few did not. And a handful—precisely 0.03% of humanity—opened their eyes with power burning beneath their skin.

Governments blamed mass hysteria. Religious leaders claimed divine intervention. Scientists proposed neurological anomalies caused by solar radiation, geomagnetic storms, cosmic rays, or an undetected pathogen. But no theory ever held long-term evidence. For every explanation formed, another contradictory discovery appeared.

Those who awakened their Gifts in 2026 were called The First Generation. Their powers were unstable—terrifyingly so. Some burst into flames without burning, others levitated uncontrollably, a few could hear the thoughts of every person within a kilometer. Many died from their own abilities before the world could understand what they had become.

But those who survived became legends. Not superheroes yet, but anomalies. Their existence shattered scientific laws and religious worldviews alike. Nations fought quietly to capture them, experimenting, negotiating, bribing, threatening—anything to control the future of power.

No one realized the truth at the time:

The Awakening was not a one-time event. It was the beginning of a cycle.

In 2031, an invisible energy pulse swept across the Earth. Every satellite recorded the same spike, every compass shifted, and for a split second, the planet’s magnetic field wavered. To ordinary people, it felt like nothing. To those with the potential to awaken, it was a spark.

People across the world—children, adults, criminals, soldiers, scholars—gasped, collapsed, or screamed as Gifts ignited inside them. This time the powers were more refined, more controlled. And because the world had already seen the First Generation, these new Gifted individuals were celebrated, embraced, paraded as symbols of humanity’s evolution.

These were the ones the world called Heroes.

Decades later, ancient ruins disturbed by Hero battles uncovered carvings and symbols predating recorded human civilization. They depicted humans with radiant hands, floating figures, and a circular symbol identical to the mysterious energy signature of the 2031 pulse.

The meaning was clear:

This was not the first age of Gifts.

Humanity had awakened before—and fallen before.

According to the carvings and surviving Codex fragments, Gifts are not a blessing nor a random mutation. They are a planetary defense mechanism, a cycle triggered when humanity reaches a threshold of global instability. When the world nears collapse—war, climate ruin, societal spiral—the planet releases the Pulse, awakening potential within select individuals to correct the imbalance.

But the cycle had a flaw.

Power corrupts faster than it heals.

And history shows that every era of the Gifted ends the same way—

with civilization burning beneath the footsteps of those meant to save it.

By the time the world reached 2039, humanity had embraced their “saviors.” The law that made Heroes untouchable was meant to protect them, but in reality, it repeated the same mistake recorded in ancient stone.

The cycle had begun again.

And this time, the world had no excuse.

______

"To correct what Heroes destabilized,

To eliminate what Heroes corrupted,

And to prevent the next global collapse."

- Dei Innominati

In a world ruled by untouchable Heroes, a faction somewhere underground known as Dei Innominati emerged like a whispered prophecy—silent, faceless, and impossibly organized. While the Heroes flaunted their strength in the open, the Nameless Gods built their power in shadows so deep that even government satellites couldn’t detect their movements. Their existence was first rumored in 2034, after the unexplained collapse of a Hero-governed city. No casualties. No explosions. No survivors who could describe their attackers. Only a message etched into the concrete with surgical precision:

“Names breed ego. Ego breeds ruin.”

Dei Innominati consisted of only fourteen members, each known only by a number from 14 to 1. The ranking was not merely based on raw power but on control, discipline, mastery, and resistance to corruption. Every member possessed a Gift—but unlike the Heroes, they submitted themselves to a strict, almost ritualistic protocol of anonymity. They had no identities, no pasts, no personal history. Upon joining, each abandoned their name, abandoning the very concept of self. According to their doctrine, a person who clings to their identity becomes vulnerable to pride—the very downfall of every Gifted era in recorded time.
