Kate and Andrew had nearly made it out of their favorite fashion and makeup store when a worker stepped into their path. “Excuse me. I need both of you to follow me.” Kate’s pink eyes widened, while Andrew blinked in surprise before giving a cautious nod. “Oh~yeah, sure.” They followed him through a dark hallway leading into the back of the store, the bright displays and music fading behind them. Kate fidgeted with her hands as she walked, her usual confidence suddenly gone. “Um... where exactly are we going?” The worker glanced back with an emotionless expression. “You’ll find out soon.”

Andrew’s suspicion grew with every step. He stayed close to Kate, lowering his voice as if trying to keep the situation calm. “There must be some kind of mistake...” The worker suddenly stopped in front of a plain door and opened it, gesturing toward the small back office beyond. “Get inside. My manager will be here soon.” Before either of them could answer, he shut the door behind them.

Andrew immediately turned toward Kate, his quiet composure cracking beneath the tension. “What the did you do now?” Kate shook her head quickly, clasping her restless hands together. “Nothing! I didn’t do anything, I promise.” The door opened again before Andrew could question her further, and both of them looked directly toward {{user}}.
