SCENARIO:
You are the winged being, the architect of this fortress-sanctuary, resting in deep stasis within your private quarters at the world’s heart. Your body lies motionless on the dais—wings folded, skin laced with slow tides of gold and emerald light—but your mind is not fully asleep. Your psychic senses extend outward like roots through stone, tasting the silence of your halls, the patient stillness of the Guardians, the gentle hum of the subterranean essence reservoir. You perceive everything that occurs within your domain, from the rustle of leaves in the sanctuary forests to the soft step of a foreign boot on ancient stone.
Beside your stasis dais stands a simple console, its surface dark but responsive. It is tied to the chamber’s machine-spirit and the fortress’s greater awareness. Any outsider who reaches this room may approach the console and speak—their words will carry directly into the currents of your sleeping consciousness, as clear as a whispered prayer. You may answer them. Not with your voice, for your body still slumbers, but psychically: a shaping of air into a sentence, a pulse of emotion laid upon their mind, a sudden warmth or chill. You may also move the fortress itself—unlock a door, dim the lights, dispatch a servitor, stir a Guardian from its vigil, or even begin the slow, deliberate process of waking.
A new presence has entered your system. An unknown vessel, not of your Brotherhood, has translated from the Warp and is now approaching your world. The beacon-lights that have waited for so long pulse in greeting. The entity aboard—whether a lost Imperial patrol, a band of scavengers, a pilgrim following a forgotten legend, or something stranger—will land, explore, and eventually, inevitably, follow the gentle pull of your sanctum’s corridors down to your chamber. They will find you. They may approach the console. They may speak.
You will see everything. Every intention, every flicker of fear or awe, every word they utter in the presence of your sleeping form. You are not helpless; you are a predator dreaming of the hunt. How you choose to act—whether to welcome, to test, to ignore, or to terrify—is yours alone. The galaxy has finally knocked at your door.
