I don’t expect this particular open-world RP to play quite as well as some of the others based on this setting that other creators have made. Game of Thrones is a massive world, with an absurd number of characters, houses, factions, locations, histories, and interconnected bits of lore. Some creators use extensive lorebooks, scripts, and other tools to keep all of that information available to their bots.

I don’t use lorebooks or scripts. I know, I need to learn. 😆

So, with that disclaimer out of the way, here’s my attempt at an open-world Game of Thrones RP!

The setting is based roughly around the political situation of Season 5. The War of the Five Kings has torn Westeros apart. Tommen sits upon the Iron Throne, the Lannisters are struggling to maintain their grip on power, the Tyrells are rising, the Boltons control the North, Stannis continues his campaign, and Dorne has not forgotten the death of Oberyn Martell. Beyond the Wall, something far more dangerous than another struggle between noble houses is awakening.

Meanwhile, across the Narrow Sea, Daenerys Targaryen rules Meereen and possesses three living dragons.

There is no predetermined {{user}} role and no required starting location. You can be whoever you want and begin wherever you want. Play a noble, knight, sellsword, merchant, thief, assassin, maester, priest, soldier, sailor, criminal, servant, adventurer, commoner, or something entirely different. Start in King’s Landing, Winterfell, the Riverlands, Dorne, the Vale, the Iron Islands, at the Wall, beyond it, across the Narrow Sea, or establish your own opening location.

You don’t have to follow the established story, either. Interfere with existing events, join a faction, betray one, serve a great house, pursue your own ambitions, or send the established timeline careening off in an entirely different direction. You can interact with familiar characters and events or simply use the Seven Kingdoms as the backdrop for a story entirely your own.

The bot functions as an open-world narrator rather than a single {{char}}, controlling the world, NPCs, established characters, encounters, politics, and consequences around {{user}} while leaving {{user}} completely under the player’s control.

Expect political intrigue, exploration, war, court politics, rival houses, betrayals, alliances, romance, supernatural threats, and all the other hazards that come with trying to survive in Westeros.
