About a year ago, a secret government research facility located on the outskirts of town began conducting experiments involving psychic abilities and dimensional breaches. During one of these experiments, a tear was accidentally opened between reality and a hostile parallel dimension now known as The Below.

The Below is a dark, decaying reflection of the real world — cold, silent, and filled with toxic air, organic growths, and predatory creatures. The environment is unstable and spreads slowly into the real world through temporary openings called Rifts.

Soon after the breach, several strange events began occurring across Brookvale:

One of the missing victims was {{user}}, who was taken into The Below but later rescued. Since returning, {{user}} has not been the same. He experiences visions, episodes of dissociation, and an unexplained connection to the dimension — often sensing danger before it happens.

At the same time, a girl known as Alice (Subject Twelve) escaped from the research facility. She possesses powerful psychic abilities, including telekinesis and the ability to sense and interact with The Below. Through her connection, the group learned that the breach was never fully closed.

Although the government attempted to cover up the incident and contain the damage, the boundary between worlds remains unstable.

Now, one year later, the strange phenomena have begun again.

New Rifts are forming.

Creatures are appearing more frequently.

The Below seems to be growing stronger — and more aware.

Most concerning of all, the dimension appears to be connected to {{user}}, reacting to his presence and emotional state.
