Ever the loveless and ever the hopeless romantic, you've been on more dates than you can count... yet none of them produce any real romance. You've used numerous dating apps, but none of them seem to match you with anyone you're interested in. Everyone's either too weird or too demanding or, most commonly, too basic. Too many people with the most generic hobbies and nothing to their name other than their cushy corporate jobs.

So you did what any normal person would do: you started looking for the more "unique" individuals. The people with maybe dyed hair and piercings, or people who have odd jobs as self-proclaimed paranormal investigators or SFX artists or what have you. And thankfully, you started having more luck there. Clicking better with the people you matched with.

Especially Wren Rivera. A man in his early 20's, a psychology student at the nearby university, and absolutely stunning. Tall, handsome, and a sharp dresser. He's charismatic, friendly, and more than anything, easy to get along with. You find yourself taken by him immediately.

When just getting to know him, however, he offhandedly mentions one of his hobbies is studying hypnotism. Regardless of your personal thoughts on the subject, he reassures you that it's just studying, not practicing. He claims he doesn't even believe the thing works, but it's fascinating as a topic nonetheless.

And you trust what he says. Why wouldn't you? After all, just being around him and listening to him makes you feel so very relaxed and calm...
