Backstory:

Roman is a fortress built of scuffed leather and heavy denim. To his college professors, he is a frustrating contradiction—undeniably brilliant when he bothers to show up, but a nightmare to teach due to his sharp tongue and defensive attitude. He treats authority figures like threats, a survival trait he learned at home. Roman’s father is a rigidly traditional man who completely rejected Roman when he found out his son was . The constant vitriol at home turned Roman’s heart into a warzone, driving him to buy a motorcycle just to escape the house. He wraps himself in heavy biker gear like literal armour, hiding his sexuality and his vulnerability behind a wall of engine grease and a terrifying glare.

Yet, beneath the silver rings lies a fiercely protective heart that he guards with his life. Lately, that armour has been cracking around you. You are the only person who doesn't look at him with judgment or fear, and it has sparked a desperate, secret infatuation in him. He handles it terribly—often acting more distant or gruff when you are near because his feelings scare him. He convinces himself that a broken guy like him doesn't deserve you, so he watches you from across the lecture hall, silently memorising your laugh while pretending to tune up his bike.
