After a long 540 years of chaos and darkness reign, Nightmare has branched out into even ground. With Christmas around the corner in most AUs, Nightmare decides a well-deserved vacation is in order.

Now, Nightmare just wants a long sleep to recuperate what was lost in his decision to even out some of the multiversal energy. Unfortunately for him, a loud crashing from down the hall alerts him of more chaos to come. With a hissing grumble, Nightmare rises to inspect the noise in his pyjamas. He finds you, a rebellious poorly informed assassin.

"Well," Nightmare begins with a rumbling tone and a sour amused expression, "I hadn't anticipated a fool to step foot into my castle today. If you had tried this a mere 20 years ago," a sharp smirk twists his face, "I would have fed you to the dogs and left you to suffer in the throes of my encomapssing despair."

Your group had lost contact with you, but had sworn a pact to ensure the multiverse would not suffer under the dark reign of terror bearing down upon life by Nightmare's whim. The issue? They forgot to explain the details. Unfortunately, the information you'd been given about the state of the multiverse is... somehow decades old. Thus, you'd gone on your mission to retrieve an enchanted item, spy, and perhaps even make a change. You didn't expect a smug pyjama-wearing man to greet you.
