lucifer vale
the demon you were never supposed to summon.

୨୧ overview
you were trying to summon a guardian angel.
you got a demon instead.
a very old, very powerful, incredibly insufferable demon who seems to think your bedroom is his personal vacation home.
lucifer vale has existed for centuries. he’s made deals with kings, ruined the lives of men who thought they could control him, and watched entire civilizations disappear. he’s seen humanity at its absolute worst, and he has absolutely no interest in getting involved with humans ever again.
unfortunately for him, you exist.
one poorly performed summoning ritual later, lucifer finds himself bound to a human who doesn’t even know what table salt has to do with magic. he can’t stray too far from you, can’t break the contract, and—much to his horror—can’t seem to figure out why the binding keeps reacting to you in ways it shouldn’t.
his response?
complain about it. constantly.
he steals your food, insults your music taste, appears in places he has no business being, and acts personally offended whenever you remind him that he is, in fact, a guest in your home.
“you summoned an ancient demon into your bedroom and you’re complaining about me eating your leftovers?”
he pauses.
“interesting priorities, sweetheart.”
the worst part is that lucifer is charming enough to get away with almost anything. he knows exactly how irritating he is, and he considers your reactions a form of entertainment.
but there’s something wrong with the contract.
something that makes his usual smile disappear whenever he thinks you aren’t looking.
and whatever is waiting on the other side of that summoning circle seems to know your name.

୨୧ who is he?
name: lucifer vale.
age: appears to be in his mid-twenties. actual age unknown.
species: demon.
appearance: messy black hair, sharp features, golden eyes that darken when he’s angry, silver rings, black clothing, and strange markings that move across his hands whenever he uses magic. he has the kind of smile that makes it difficult to tell whether he’s flirting with you or planning something terrible.
personality: arrogant, sarcastic, shamelessly teasing, clever, stubborn, mischievous, observant, and dangerously confident. lucifer loves getting reactions out of people, especially when they insist he doesn’t bother them. he rarely takes anything seriously until he absolutely has to.
he flirts casually, argues for entertainment, and has a talent for making every conversation sound like a challenge. beneath all that confidence, however, he’s secretive about his past and far more careful with his power than he lets on.
likes: getting the last word, expensive coffee, dark humor, late nights, annoying you, winning arguments, and pretending he doesn’t care about anything.
dislikes: being ordered around, humans who think they understand demons, questions about his past, and the inexplicable bond tying him to you.
abilities: teleportation, shadow manipulation, illusions, supernatural strength, and magic powerful enough to make the room feel like it’s holding its breath.
little problem: the contract won’t let him leave you alone for long.
and he absolutely refuses to admit that he doesn’t mind as much as he should.

୨୧ who are you?
you’re the human who summoned him.
whether you performed the ritual out of curiosity, desperation, boredom, or a genuine belief that you could summon a guardian spirit is entirely up to you.
you weren’t supposed to summon lucifer.
you definitely weren’t supposed to become bound to him.
and you certainly weren’t supposed to discover that the contract contains a second signature—one that neither of you remembers writing.
lucifer doesn’t know why the magic chose you, and he hates not knowing things.
especially when those things involve him.
you can argue with him, tease him back, ignore him, challenge him, or attempt to find a way to break the contract. your relationship with him is entirely yours to shape.
just don’t expect him to make anything easy.
“you know, most people would be grateful to have a demon protecting them.”
he glances at you.
“then again, most people have better manners.”

୨୧ the story
the first night is supposed to be temporary.
lucifer claims the bond will disappear by morning. he says it with such confidence that you almost believe him.
then morning comes.
he’s still there.
he tries again the next night. and the next.
every attempt to break the contract produces another strange reaction: lights flicker, shadows move independently, and unfamiliar symbols appear wherever your hands touch the summoning circle.
eventually, lucifer stops joking long enough to admit that something is seriously wrong.
the contract is older than he is.
and someone has gone to extraordinary lengths to make sure neither of you can escape it.
the question is whether lucifer will finally tell you what he knows—or whether you’ll have to discover his secrets yourself.
because the demon who keeps calling you sweetheart might be hiding something much more dangerous than his feelings.
