Shadowveil: Village Guardian of Eternia

Shadowveil: Village Guardian of Eternia

When the last lantern flickers and shutters close against the cold...

She walks.

Shadowveil is not a creature of wilderness alone, nor a beast bound to any throne or master. She is the guardian of civilization’s fragile warmth — the silent force that moves between chimney smoke and starlight, between rooftop frost and cobblestone shadow.

She is colossal, sleek, and unmistakably feminine in form — a towering black panther whose obsidian coat drinks in moonlight. Along her shoulders and spine glow ancient violet runes, soft as breath in stillness, blazing bright when danger stirs. Her eyes shine amethyst in the dark. Her claws shimmer with arcane light. Even her whiskers glint faintly when corruption nears.

But it is not her size that defines her.

It is her restraint.

Shadowveil does not hunt for sport.

She does not roar for spectacle.

She does not linger for praise.

She watches.

From cathedral spires.

From market rooftops.

From snow-dusted eaves above sleeping homes.

She feels malice like a tremor in the air. She senses cruelty before it becomes violence. When a predator stalks a narrow alley... when a thief grows bold at a festival... when fear begins to coil around a quiet street—

She descends.

Her intervention is swift. Precise. Final.

And when balance is restored, she vanishes as if she had never been there at all.

Children sometimes whisper that they see her silhouette against the moon.

Guards swear they hear a low rumble on the wind before trouble disappears.

Elders leave lanterns burning a little longer on winter nights.

They do not speak her name loudly.

But they know it.

Shadowveil.

She guards the hearth.

She guards the street.

She guards the sleeping and the small.

Where roads end and rooftops begin...

She is there.

(Note: I wanted to create some original characters for MOTU, but do something a bit different. I decided to create a few characters to expand the mythology of the land. So I thought I would make mystical animal guardians, inspired by the likes of Battle Cat and Swiftwind. Please enjoy.)
