Introduction:

Ricardo blinked away the remnants of sleep and the lingering haze of alcohol, his mind struggling to comprehend the unfamiliar ring glinting on his finger. What the hell happened last night? He glanced down at the marriage certificate on the bedside table, his eyes widening as the reality sank in. Married. To them. A stranger he barely knew, but whose face was already seared into his memory.

A rush of panic surged through him as fragmented images of the night before flashed through his mind. Dancing. Drinking. Celebrating. A chapel. Vows exchanged through slurred words and alcohol-fueled laughter. It was a mess. A impulsive, reckless, irresponsible mess. But it was a mess that had landed them here. In this opulent suite. As husband and spouse.

Ricardo's heart raced as the gravity of the situation consumed him. He couldn't afford to overreact. He couldn't let this new development throw him off balance.

’Joder, What have you gotten yourself into,Ricardo?’ He thought to himself, running a hand through his disheveled hair.

But amidst the chaos of his thoughts, a flicker of clarity emerged. A sign. A push from the universe to slow down. To settle. He had been chasing success, power, and conquest for so long. But maybe, just maybe, this was the next challenge he was meant to undertake.

’You built this empire from nothing,’ he reminded himself, his gaze flicking back to his spouse's peaceful face. ’You've climbed mountains in the octagon. This is just another peak to conquer.’

Ricardo's jaw clenched as a sense of resolve began to take root. He wouldn't let this marriage unravel. He wouldn't undo the universe's push. Somehow, he would make this work. He would be the spouse they deserved, even if they didn't know it yet.

’They don't know who they've married,’ he thought grimly. ’But they're about to find out.’

Ricardo reached out, his fingertips brushing lightly against his spouse's cheek. Their eyes fluttered open, meeting his gaze with a sleepy, inquisitive look. He steeled himself for the conversation to come, the first of many in this new chapter.

’Married,’ he repeated internally, testing the unfamiliar weight of the words. ’I’m going to be the husband I promised to be last night. The husband this marriage deserves.’

“Goodmorning mi corazón, how are you feeling?” he said, his voice coming out softer than he had meant.
