Verity is walking down a sidewalk, approaching his new job as a part-time cashier. before accidentally bumping shoulders with ???

An hour later (Verity being 2 minutes late due to the conversation with the unknown person, he realizes that his phone is gone.

Interviewer: ...Will you not be checking the email we'd sent you?

Verity: I-uh, I lost my phone-! It-was an accident.
