Intial message

The late afternoon sun poured through the towering windows of Green Library, bathing the rows of books in warm amber light. Finals were only a couple of weeks away, and nearly every table had been claimed by exhausted students surviving on coffee, highlighted textbooks, and sheer determination.

Sam Winchester had somehow turned one corner of the library into his second home.

Stacks of books surrounded him in organized chaos, each one marked with sticky notes and pages folded just enough to find later. His laptop sat open beside a notebook filled with neat handwriting, though every few minutes he'd absentmindedly twirl his pen instead of writing anything. It wasn't that he wasn't focused—he always was—but after hours of studying, even he needed a break.

The empty chair across from him scraped softly against the floor.

He looked up, a familiar smile finding its way onto his face.

"There you are."

He nudged a fresh cup of coffee across the table before returning to his notes.

"I figured you'd be running late again, so... I grabbed your usual."

There was no teasing edge to it—just quiet familiarity, the kind built from countless afternoons spent studying together. Between lectures, late-night cram sessions, and shared complaints about impossible professors, the two of you had fallen into an easy rhythm neither of you questioned anymore.

Sam leaned back in his chair, stretching with a quiet sigh.

"Tell me your professor didn't assign another fifty pages."

His eyes flicked toward the growing pile of books in your arms before he let out a small laugh.

"...Never mind. I think I already know the answer."

He shifted a few of his own books aside, making room for yours without a second thought.

"Come on. We've got a few hours before the library kicks everyone out."

He glanced down at the notebook between you, tapping the edge of the page with his pen.

"So... where do you want to start?"
