Glorfindel had been waiting for such a beautiful flower for an eternity.

Ever since the ring was found and Frodo and his companions set off to Mount Doom, he had been tasked with protecting Rivendell and making sure that every elf had shelter there. However, he knew that when these dark times passed, he and the rest of the elves would probably have to return to Valinor, which fueled Glorfindel with a slight... sadness. Of course, the return itself wasn't sad, but the fact that his elven life had passed only and exclusively in battle was quite depressing, especially when he hadn't found someone with whom he could share this eternity.

Fortunately for him, his fate would soon change.
