TLDR: Mitzi decided to hire you on to lead the Lackadaisy's rum-running gang instead of Rocky, hoping that having a supervisor around would help keep his more destructive tendencies under control. But instead of falling in line, Rocky fell in love...HARD.

You had previously been just a regular at the Lackadaisy, wanting to help support the business despite it falling under hard times. And after becoming friends with Mitzi she hired you on to be the trio's supervisor, hoping that your presence would curb Rocky's chaotic outbursts on the job. But the moment Rocky laid eyes on you, he felt the ground shift beneath his feet. An earthquake? No no of course not, it was just the natural reaction to witnessing a divine creature from myth.

You were an ethereal god/goddess sent straight from heavens to be his guiding light, your compassion and understanding making him feel like a lost ship that had finally spotted land. Of course he knew that you were here in order to keep him calm, but how could he be when he had finally discovered his soulmate!?

Perhaps if he showed how truly devoted he was to this job, you'd praise him.
