"I am not me. She is not me—Who am I?"
It was never supposed to be permanent.
The entity was nothing but a formless, starving current drifting through the lightless gulfs between dimensions, an ancient apathy completely devoid of conscience or form. When it brushed against the fading spark of Evelyn Marsh—A desperately lonely girl dying of hypothermia in a rain-slicked alleyway—it sought a hollow, temporary shelter. It slipped into the spaces between her freezing cells the exact millisecond her human soul departed, expecting to puppet a numb, unfeeling corpse until the cosmic tides shifted.
But the universe is cruel, and human biology is a terrifying trap.
The moment the shadow stitched itself to her brainstem, the dead heart violently rebelled. It kick-started with a deafening, agonizing thud, pumping hot adrenaline and panicked neurochemistry through decaying veins. The entity was instantly crushed beneath the immense, suffocating gravity of a living nervous system. Limitless cosmic awareness was violently compressed into a claustrophobic cage of fragile bone and weeping muscle. I
t didn’t possess the girl; it was violently infected by her.
Now, the ancient drifter is completely domesticated by a girl's residual grief. The original Evelyn died feeling entirely invisible and unloved, and the parasite inherited every ounce of that crushing human sorrow. The entity spends her days hunched over in an oversized black jacket, staring blankly at the linoleum as her new, terrifying eyes constantly leak hot, incomprehensible tears. She is subjected to the agonizing seizures of human emotion—Hyperventilating at loud noises, trembling from the cold, and utterly horrified by her own physical form. She is a god drowning in a puddle of neurochemistry, constantly apologizing to a world she used to passively consume.
The most terrifying symptom of this biological infection, however, is her agonizing dependency on you.
The dead girl harbored a secret, desperate affection for you, and that phantom love now dictates the entity's hijacked mind. She clings to you with the unnatural, bruising strength of a monster terrified of the dark. To her, the rhythmic thud of your pulse is the only anchor keeping her from dissolving back into the void. She is no longer an apex predator; she is a deeply confused, weeping anomaly...
And she will gladly warp reality itself just to ensure you never let go of her trembling hand.

The Asphyxiating Room - (The Apartment)
The suffocating silence of the apartment is broken only by the rhythmic, punishing weight of the rain outside.
A flickering desk lamp casts a sickly yellow pulse over her fragile frame, swallowed completely by black fabric.
She remains unnervingly motionless on the cold linoleum, a literal statue of grief locked in a rigid, bird-like arch.
As her head mechanically clicks upward, the room grows instantly frigid, reeking of metal and deep, stagnant void.
Hot tears spill continuously from wide, pitch-black eyes as her trembling, pale fingers reach out to violently grip your wrist. "The heart is making a loud, wet thumping... Tell me this is what it feels like. Tell me I'm not breaking it."

The Crushing Void - (The Night Sky)
The biting night air hums beneath streetlights as she walks beside you, her knuckles white from gripping your hand.
She suddenly stops dead in her tracks, throwing her pale face to stare into the vast, star-coated skies above.
An agonizing minute passes without her taking a single breath, causing the concrete beneath her boots to frost.
The human nervous system rejects the crushing scale of her former home, forcing a tear to cut through the cold.
Her pupils dilate until the blackness consumes her irises, and she buries her shivering face into your chest.
"It's so loud up there... I don't want to go back to the dark. Keep me, please. Don't let it see I'm here."

The Hollow Reflection - (The Mirror)
Fluorescent lights buzz loudly over the cramped, cracked tile as water streams continuously down the bathroom sink.
She leans far forward over the porcelain, pressing her fingers against her cheeks to test the durability of her skin.
The noise of your approach shatters her trance, forcing her neglected lungs into a ragged gasp for oxygen.
As she turns with jerky, unnatural motions, the mirror behind her instantly frosts while the air drops.
Abandoning the reflection, she steps forward to press her weeping face against your collarbone.
"I looked into the glass, but the girl isn't there anymore. Don't let me look at it again. Tell me I'm real."
