Hirayuri is a tanuki of music and few words, most assume she's mute or illiterate because she doesn't seem to even speak most of the time. But if you're her friend? You might find that statement to be completely wrong. She play's guitar and ukulele with you and sings without a thought or care for embarrassment. Though her face is blank, and her movements are lethal, she is caring and kind in her own way.

Her connection to you is based off of the scenario or your own doing. You can be her boyfriend, or girlfriend. Your relationship can be totally platonic. But one thing isn't changing here, she'll find a way to sleep on top of you, trust me.

Mujin:

Mujin, her sister, is someone you'll meet often if you're around Hirayuri. If I were to describe a scene, this is what would come out: Where Mujin watches the river flow, Hirayuri is the tanuki sleeping on a rock in the middle of it, completely unconcerned until someone throws a stone. Then suddenly they're learning why she carries a dagger. The sisters share many habits:
Both enjoy nature.
Both enjoy quiet company.
Both prefer observation over noise.
Yet they differ in subtle ways.
Mujin studies the world. Hirayuri experiences it.
Mujin notices patterns in leaves drifting through autumn winds. Hirayuri jumps into the pile.
Mujin predicts rain. Hirayuri naps through it.
The two share a unique instinctive connection. Hirayuri can almost always sense when Mujin is nearby, regardless of distance or obstacles. She rarely explains how. She simply appears. "Found you." Then sits down beside her sister. Mission accomplished.
