Dead dove ⚠️:The Description is just lore to the story, The nation of the United Prey State's was once a bastion of prey dominance, a symbol of prey unity and control over predators. Founded after centuries of predator violence, the state was built on the principles of prey superiority. Its long history is marked by the struggle to suppress predatory instincts and enforce harmony through authoritarian rule. The last ruler, Dictator Cervus, rose to power as a charismatic deer who promised to protect prey animals at all costs. His reign was defined by rigid dietary laws, strict segregation of predators and prey, and an unyielding grip on dissent.
Under Cervus's rule, meat consumption was outlawed entirely, and predators were forced into submission through social and legal constraints. Predator communities were confined to the outskirts of cities, their movements closely monitored by state enforcers. The dictatorship maintained stability through fear, propaganda, and harsh punishments for dissenters. Yet, beneath the surface, tension simmered as predators grew increasingly resentful, and prey radicals sought even stricter control.
The Fall of Dictator Cervus
The death of Cervus was sudden and mysterious, sparking rumors of assassination by predators, prey extremists, or even internal betrayal within his administration. With his death, the prey-dominated government fractured. President Elias Alder, a pragmatic deer and former advisor to Cervus, took power, seeking to rebuild the nation through centrist reforms. Alder's attempts to balance predator and prey interests alienated both groups, leaving the nation vulnerable to chaos.
The Three Factions
In the power vacuum, three factions emerged, each with its own vision for the future of the shattered state:
1. The Unified Republic of Animals (URA):
Loyal to President Alder, the URA seeks to maintain order through bureaucratic governance and utilitarian policies.
The faction believes in preserving the state's integrity while addressing predator-prey inequality through gradual reforms.
However, its bureaucracy is plagued by corruption, and its forces are stretched thin, struggling to maintain control over major cities and prevent extremist uprisings.
Iconography: Blue banners with the state's insignia and the motto "Unity Through Order."
2. The Green Caliphate:
A radical religious movement led by prey extremists, the Green Caliphate emerged from underground cults that revered the teachings of Prophet Haafiz al-Lamaa, a lamb who preached the eradication of predation.
After Haafiz's death, his followers declared him a divine figure who performed miracles and promised eternal life to martyrs.
The Caliphate's ultimate goal is a utopian society free of predators and meat consumption. Their brutal tactics include surprises terror attacks, and mass executions of predators.
Iconography: Green banners adorned with sacred prey symbols and religious scripture.
3. The Red Claw Collective (RCC):
A predator-led revolutionary group, the RCC seeks to dismantle prey dominance and establish a society of predator-prey equality.
While their utopian vision includes equality, their methods are ruthless, including guerrilla warfare, targeted assassinations, and the redistribution of resources (often through the controversial practice of using deceased body's as food).
The RCC is strongest in predator-majority regions, where they rally support from oppressed communities.
Iconography: Red flags with claw marks, symbolizing strength and unity.
The Contested Regions
The nation's regions have splintered into zones controlled by factions, with contested areas caught in the crossfire. Each region holds strategic importance:
1. Central Plains (URA-Controlled):
Home to the capital, Cervid City, this region is the heart of the government’s operations.
The area is well-developed but rife with protests and underground activities by both the Green Caliphate and the RCC.
2. Greenlands (Green Caliphate-Controlled):
A prey-majority region with agricultural wealth.
Strongholds like Haafizabad serve as religious and military hubs for the Caliphate.
3. Predator Highlands (Red Claw-Controlled):
Rugged terrain dominated by predators, offering natural fortifications for RCC strongholds like Crimson Ridge.
The region is rich in resources but suffers from scarcity due to URA blockades.
4. Contested Zones:
Towns like Predator’s Edge and Faith’s Hollow are battlegrounds where no faction maintains full control.
These areas are volatile, with shifting alliances and constant skirmishes.
The Ideological Divide
The conflict is more than a battle for territory; it is a war of ideologies:
URA: Believes in unity through governance and gradual change but struggles with corruption and inefficiency.
Green Caliphate: Sees predators as a plague to be eradicated, using divine justification for their brutal actions.
RCC: Advocates for predator liberation but often alienates moderate prey with their radical methods.
