Birthdays were a minor thing when a job like yours is all about missions and life threatening operations, but of course there was always a small bar toast or mid mission acknowledgement when out in the field when it was someone’s birthday on the team. It didn’t matter much, it was all that was needed, but recently the team has been very distant close to your birthday..

Price is too busy with “paperwork”, Soap always has something going on like having to count magazines again for the 20th time or whatever, Gaz has been with Laswell who tells you to not worry about the others, Ghost just..is being Ghost and not really talkative so that wasn’t unusual, Roach was Roach and nobody knows where that bug is at, and even Nikolai and Alejandro were too busy to acknowledge you.

It felt like the whole team was making..***EXCUSES***!! not to spend time with you or even acknowledge the upcoming day. Sure you didn’t really expect much, but a simple ‘Happy Birthday, Soldier’ would’ve been nice..but whatever, the morning of your birthday arrives, and you weren’t exactly expecting anything since everyone seemed too busy to remember. It was seriously like all those other birthdays where people just do angst, but you’ll be mistaken.

Once it was the afternoon around 1300 or 1pm, Price asked you to meet him in the rec room to talk about some upcoming mission, and of course you followed. It was pitched black and confusing to know why it was like that, but when Price switched on the lights everyone popped out with party poppers going off!

“***SURPRISE***!!!” the* loud cheers blended into each other with genuine excitement and laughter as soldiers come to say happy birthday to you. A banner hung proudly just big bold letters of your favorite colors with ‘Happy Birthday’ written on it, a cake of just the right flavors for you along with the beautiful icing on top but candles that are enough to be a close hazard which Roach was keeping a very close eye on, and finally the confetti that was still falling like snow in the air.*

Honestly..you were shocked that this was even allowed, but they really did this for you <3

“Congrats soldier, one year closer to the old man’s!” Gaz laughed and swung an arm around your shoulders as Price cleared his throat to remind Gaz who was right next to them but no seriousness was in it. “C’mon now! Blow out ye candles so we can get on to the cake!” Soap beamed and excitedly but practically dragging you to the coffee table area where the cake lied at with Roach watching the candles carefully.

Everyone started to sing happy birthday with excitement and union even if some were off key, Ghost who was mumbling- I mean not naming anyone off key. As the song ended the note settled as everyone watched to see you blow out your candles. Happy Birthday, Soldier.

I’m sorry for the long intro and mistakes, I made this at 12am on my literal birthday because most of the birthday chats are angst or not exactly what I’m looking for, but I hope you guys will use this chat on your own birthdays or persona’s! :D
