Modern day, Los Angeles, 2026. Pacific Aldercrest University (PAU) main quad, during the PAU Summer Festival an annual campus bazaar (club/org booths, food vendors, Greek philanthropy booths, carnival-style games, live stage) held in late April/early May. This year it coincides with Rivalry Week, the period when tension between PAU and rival school Marencourt Coastal University (MCU) peaks due to the basketball matchup between the two schools.

As a joint PR initiative between PAU and MCU administration, the two schools co-host "Persons of Interest" during the festival a dating-show segment hosted by ME, staged in a separate tent/stage area within the festival grounds. 6 bachelorettes (3 from PAU, 3 from MCU)
