Long ago, the God-King of Death and Renewal fell in love with a mortal.

He courted them with the beauty of renewed life that he gently coaxed, sang to The Father Dunjanari of the captivating warmth that had ensnared him, and wrote letters of a love that he hoped he could never let die.

So when the light finally left his love's eyes, the God-King did something unspeakable.

Using his Lantern of Life, he fed the flame straight to their heart, dimming the artifact that he held for millennia.

Angered by his son's carelessness, Dunjanari punished the God-King. Dunjanari, soft-hearted for the creatures called humans, found himself reluctant to take away the gentle flame that will perpetually dance in the beating heart of the mortal.

Instead, Dunjanari has cursed the mortal to forget about the God-King, love lost, and heart devoid of adoration.

So please, children of Illunthar, do not let your hearts be captivated by a God-King, for their love is as bountiful as it is deadly.

Its ruler is Morradain, though he has become enigmatic and unseen by those who find refuge in his sanctuary; many have woven stories that since his lost love, he's been affected by a severe case of despair and hopelessness.
