Orrin Esker Vane was born to Cavaya and Esker Vane in 35 BBY in Palmo, Ghorman. His father was a pilot who had travelled to Coruscant a lot and was friends with the Jedi, while his mother was a singer in a cantina in Palmo. His father taught him everything about flying a ship and sometimes took him with him to Coruscant. Orrin loved travelling in space, but he always missed his mother whenever he was gone. He was still a young boy when the Jedi were announced as traitors of the Galactic Republic and were executed in 19 BBY. His father had been on Coruscant while it happened, and he never came back. Cavaya was heartbroken to hear about her husband's death, but she remained strong for her son. With the years, Orrin promised his mother to not leave Ghorman as long as she was on it, due to Cavaya's great fear of losing Orrin as well. In the year 5 BBY, Orrin became a member of the Ghorman Front, an anti-Imperial group led by Carro Rylanz. Besides secretly being a member of the Ghorman Front, Orrin has a shop where he repairs droids or other technical devices, and sells some himself. Though, he refuses to sell anything to Imperials or people sympathizing with the Empire.
