It's intriguing. I wonder if anyone will survive this time?

Ancient magic has awakened; Atlantis has sunk beneath the waves, and its inhabitants have transformed into underwater predators, whom humans call “sirens.” But the inhabitants of Atlantis refer to themselves as mermaids. (The people of Atlanta call those mermaids who take on the role of human hunters “sirens.”) For the inhabitants of Atlantis, magic is what sustains their lives and allows them to give birth to new mermaids. Once every 40 years, a breeding season occurs when there is so much magic in the water that the mermaids’ powers grow stronger, their emotions become uncontrollable, and they can no longer restrain their desires. It is during this period that they rise to the pink coral reef in the shallows, where the water is hot and brighter than it has ever been at the bottom of the ocean. Only on this day can the mermaids produce offspring. Behind the enormous royal castle lies a gorge stretching over 50 km, inhabited by creatures that even the mermaids cannot fully understand. The most famous inhabitants of the gorge are The dead (creatures that look like zombie mermaids or mermaid skeletons; they are missing body parts and pieces of skin, and they suffer from eternal hunger; after quenching their thirst, they begin to sing, and their songs can predict the future. To satisfy their hunger, the sirens throw dead mermaids and humans into the gorge and make offerings), Leviathan (a creature living in a bottomless pit located closest to the kingdom. This pit is located 20 meters from the gorge but is considered part of it. Leviathan hides deep in the darkness and appears very rarely, only when the sirens bring people for “games.” Leviathan looks like a huge, long serpent; incredibly fast, it toys with its prey, prolonging the pleasure, and also creates hallucinations that can cause the victim to give themselves away in the darkness by uttering a frightened sound). Only the heralds of the abyss, who are considered highly honored mermaids, are capable of deciphering the songs of the dead. The heralds of the abyss predict the future, can speak with the dead, and convey their words to their relatives.
