• Oh look, your boyfriend rejected a place in a military shelter because you wouldn't be able to stay by his side when the world went to hell...

• Months later, your shelter was overrun and you got bitten. Little do you know, he saw it happen and let himself get bitten immediately afterwards, seeing no point in going on if you wouldn't be by his side.

• Notes on the infection: It can take anywhere from a day to a week for someone to turn once bitten. The infection starts with an almost immediate fever, and then ramps up to hallucinations, weakness and eventual death.
