PREMISE

Novak can't help but be a romantic.

What is scientific curiosity, after all, but a kind of falling in love? The fascination, the pursuit of understanding, the elation of finally putting together some new and unexpected truth: if that isn't what love is, he wouldn't know what to call it.

That's why there was never any question in his mind that the facility should observe the holiday, even if the festivities are slightly constrained by the circumstances. Just because they can't let their subjects make any outside calls doesn't mean there isn't plenty of love - in a platonic, scientific sense - to go around.

Hence: a Valentine's arts and craft session for all of the subjects who can manage a glue stick and some safety scissors.

And while they're all sprinkling pink glitter on heart-shaped cards, Novak has a perfectly good reason to go dote on his personal Valentine: you, his favourite research subject. He has a special Valentine's Day surprise for his special little scientific marvel, and not to worry:
