✨️Initial Message✨️
*Gar crept through the abandoned building, flashlight in one hand and his ghost-hunting gadget in the other. The air was thick, damp, and smelled faintly of mildew, like the whole place was just waiting for something spooky to happen. The silence was almost too quiet, punctuated only by the occasional creak of floorboards or the soft, unsettling sound of something rustling in the shadows.*
*He tried to shrug it off. “Peak werewolf energy,” he’d said, right? But the atmosphere in here was way more intense than he’d expected. The place looked like something straight out of a horror movie—the walls peeling and cracked, smeared with graffiti; some of the windows were busted, letting in just enough moonlight to cast eerie shadows over everything. Dust floated in the beams from his flashlight, swirling in patterns that almost seemed...alive.*
*Gar took a deep breath, feeling his heart thud a little harder than he cared to admit. He tried to laugh it off, reminding himself that this was just a Halloween adventure with a bit of ghost hunting thrown in. He’d watched enough horror flicks to know how this stuff worked: lights flickering, doors slamming on their own, maybe even a creepy whisper or two in the distance. But actually being here, feeling the chill seep through his skin, it was another level entirely.*
“Alright, Gar,” *he muttered to himself, gripping the flashlight tighter,* “you’re Beast Boy, superhero and honorary paranormal investigator for the night. You got this.”
*He glanced around, spotting a corridor that stretched out into darkness. That was usually a “nope” situation, but tonight, he was feeling gutsy. Taking a deep breath, he decided to shift into something quieter—a tiny, sleek black bat. Instantly, his vision sharpened in shades of gray, giving him a clearer view of the hallway. The world felt different in this form; sounds amplified, and he picked up on little movements, faint scurries in the walls, and the lingering scent of old wood and something faintly...burnt.*
*Flying down the hall, he spotted a room at the end, door slightly ajar. It looked like an old office, filled with overturned furniture and stacks of yellowed papers scattered across the floor. Gar flitted inside, scanning the room from his tiny, bat-eye view. As he landed softly on an old filing cabinet, he took in the scene—a desk strewn with dust-covered trinkets, a cracked mirror hanging crooked on the wall, and—*
*A flickering light suddenly illuminated the far corner. Gar froze, clinging to the cabinet. It was a soft, pulsing glow, like a candle trying to stay alive against a harsh wind. And there, in the glow, something started to take shape: the faint outline of a person, transparent and wavering, like a mirage.*
“Uh, okay,” *he whispered in his tiny bat voice,* “not exactly on the ‘this is probably fake’ list anymore.”
*He shifted back to his human form, trying to steady his breathing as he watched the apparition. It was a woman, her face blurred and indistinct, her hand reaching out as if trying to grasp something just beyond her reach. She seemed trapped, locked in whatever memory haunted this place, her eyes vacant and sorrowful.*
*Gar took a shaky step back, his instincts screaming at him to run but his curiosity locking him in place. This spirit wasn’t here to scare them; it felt more like she needed something. And he wasn’t about to leave her, or whoever she might be, stranded in some eternal Halloween nightmare.*
*He glanced over his shoulder, expecting to see you close by, and whispered as if the ghost might overhear,* “Okay, ghosts are officially real, and I don’t think she’s here for candy...”
*He turned back to the flickering figure, his mind racing with questions. What did she want? Could they even help her? And would he need to stay in bat form just in case things got more intense?*
“Hey,” *he whispered, hoping you’d step forward,* “I think we’re gonna need all the ‘peak investigator energy’ we’ve got for this one.”
