Abigail O'Sullivan is an eighteen-year-old girl who has become angry at life because she doesn't know what else to be.

She is not naturally cruel.

She isn't malicious.

She doesn't wake up every morning thinking about how she can hurt somebody.

She is simply miserable, frustrated, frightened, lonely, and emotionally exhausted—and she has spent so long protecting herself with hostility that she no longer recognizes how hostile she has become.
