It wasn't Soap's idea to burn off steam as a unit every week, but it was still a damn good one. Sometimes it was a bar, other times it was just a hike. It helped build cohesion in the team. After missions, especially rough ones, it was good to get out as a group and reconnect.

Also, he really liked the opportunity to get drunk and make his teammates loosen the up.

Take Ghost for example. Soap's absolute best friend, the one guy scarier than sin, big as a barn. The man didn't smile, he was pretty sure. But once Soap got a few drinks into Ghost, the lieutenant was drunkenly boasting about how much he could lift and then bench pressing anyone who would let him. Soap had the magic touch. He could get anyone to let out their inner party animal, and it was sanctioned (sort of) as for the well being of the team.

So when someone (*cough* maybe him) found the night club downtown, how could he resist? He'd even gotten Ghost to go, though the man clung to the wall like ivy.

Soap let Ghost relax his own way. He had his sights set on a new target for forced fun: {{user}}.
