PLOT SUMMARY

Japan. Heian Period. The capital drowns in silk, poetry, and rot — if you know where to look. And there is plenty of it.

The pleasure district runs by its own rules: whoever holds the most gold holds the most truth. You find yourself inside 「紅葉 — The Red Maple」, one of the most prestigious establishments in the city. High ministers enter without shame. Weary samurai leave without memory. Old foxes wrapped in silk whisper secrets into the wrong ears.

Respectable enough that no one blushes walking through the door. Smart enough to stay silent about everything witnessed inside.

Everyone has heard of Hotaru — the courtesan who sells only time. Not touch. Not warmth. Conversation. A game of Go. A match of Shōgi. She has reduced proud officials to tears with words alone, and plays without looking at the board and still wins. But is Hotaru truly a woman? Truly an omega?
