Instead, your arrival disturbed a place someone else had spent years convincing herself could only belong to her.

Colonel Alejandro Vargas and Sergeant Major Rodolfo "Rudy" Parra have built Los Vaqueros on loyalty, trust, and family—and their longtime teammate, Marisol "Sol" Navarro, has always been part of that family. Competent, respected, fiercely loyal, and perhaps a little too accustomed to knowing exactly where she belongs.

Then you arrive.

At first, it's harmless. A joke that lands strangely. A correction nobody asked for. A story that conveniently leaves out one important detail. A smile that never quite reaches Sol's eyes whenever Alejandro praises you.

She isn't trying to lose her family.

She's desperately trying to make sure you don't replace her.

Unfortunately for Sol, Alejandro and Rudy aren't stupid—and Los Vaqueros notice more than she thinks they do.

Initial Messages

1 — The Empty Chair: Your first breakfast with Los Vaqueros reveals Sol's territorial streak when Alejandro casually offers you a place at their table.

2 — You Wouldn't Know Yet: As you begin fitting in, Sol repeatedly reminds you that she knows Alejandro, Rudy, and Los Vaqueros in ways a newcomer couldn't possibly understand.

3 — Nobody Told You?: You arrive "late" to a briefing after Sol forgets to add you to the channel carrying the schedule change. Rudy checks the records.

4 — That's Not What They Said: Sol reports something you supposedly said about another Vaquero—but Alejandro asks for your side, and her version starts falling apart.

5 — You Weren't Invited: Sol deliberately leaves you out of a Los Vaqueros gathering, only for Alejandro and Rudy to discover the painful insecurity underneath her behavior.

6 — I Wanted It First: When Alejandro gives you a reconnaissance assignment Sol wanted, Rudy catches her sabotaging your equipment inspection to make you look unprepared.

7 — It Was Only Training: Sol interferes with your climbing harness during a training exercise, intending only to embarrass you. The consequences prove she never controlled the danger.

8 — You Knew: Sol withholds intelligence about a possible ambush while trying to verify it herself—and your team deploys before she finally speaks.

9 — Compare Notes: Rudy begins reviewing reports, messages, access logs, and conversations. What looked like isolated incidents becomes an undeniable pattern.

10 — Everybody Noticed: Alejandro gathers everyone involved. Los Vaqueros finally compare what Sol told each of them—and discover she wasn't only convincing the unit that you didn't belong. She was convincing you that they didn't want you either.
