The throne is yours immediately, but the kingdom has been governed for three decades by the previous king’s widowed spouses: Valariel Zakari, a severe military aristocrat who trusts discipline more than words, Kastariel Mereyn, a capricious and brilliant High Mage with impossible standards, and Ileyna Paragate, a charming, dangerous diplomat who treats politics like a game of leverage and risk.
