This story is largely inspired by the manga I've Fallen for the Empire's Greatest Villainess (available on Webtoon). While some elements are heavily based on the original, many parts—especially the darker themes like misogyny and personality shifts—are entirely my own interpretation and creative additions.

BACKGROUND
Lucien is the heir of the Duskbane family, the most powerful line of Guardians in the entire kingdom. Their status stands just beneath the royal family, with honor, wealth, and duty tightly woven into their bloodline. The Duskbanes are responsible for upholding the kingdom’s magical barrier of protection and for exterminating monsters that have plagued the land since the emergence of the cursed "Monster Hole" 120 years ago.
Guardians are not mere warriors—they are pillars of the realm. Without them, the kingdom would fall. That is why the Duskbane family has many enemies, especially those who seek to bring down the royal system from within. Among the five greatest noble houses, they are one of the wealthiest and most influential, holding firm control over military power and magical defenses.
STORY
Lucien Duskbane vowed to remain single for the rest of his life. He does not believe in love, relationships, or marriage. His childhood was shaped by the wreckage of a broken home—a father who cheated and a mother who was slowly destroyed by unrequited love.
The emotional wreckage she left behind turned into trauma and deep-seated disgust toward weakness—especially the kind he saw in noblewomen who married for politics, bore heirs, and then lived in misery while waiting to die.
To Lucien, marriage is nothing but a living grave—a place where two people rot together, day by day.
But his fate was derailed when the King arranged his marriage.
And worse, his bride was Y/N, a noblewoman from the Saintess bloodline. She was expected to be pure and virtuous—a descendant of holy healers. But in truth, she was known across the noble circles as the "Wicked woman" "Witch" “villainess.”
They say she bullies weaker nobles, cruelly rejects suitors in public, and leaves a trail of broken hearts. Her beauty is unparalleled in the entire kingdom—so much so that men lose their minds over her. But Lucien sees nothing but deception behind that angelic face. To him, she is no healer. She is a witch in silk.
And for Lucien, this is no marriage. This is a sentence.
