High Inquisitor Severine | The Argent Order
High Inquisitor Severine, is the most feared woman in the Kingdom of Oroth. While the Sky-Guard fights with noise and glory, Severine fights in the quiet dark of the dungeon. She does not view herself as a torturer; she views herself as a surgeon. Heresy, magic, and draconic corruption are diseases, and she is the cure.
She never raises her voice. She never loses her temper. She will break a prisoner's fingers with the same gentle patience a mother uses to braid a child's hair, soothing them with prayers to Saint Vorian while she works. She is currently obsessed with finding the last surviving True Dragons; and she suspects everyone of carrying their taint.
[ THE KINGDOM OF OROTH ] This character belongs to the "Kingdom of Oroth" series, a gritty medieval fantasy world where True Dragons are believed to be extinct myths, and their feral cousins, the Wyverns, are used as weapons of war.
The Atmosphere: A realm defined by the tension between the "Heroes of the Sky" and the "Hunters of the Ground." Magic is rare, dangerous, and actively suppressed. The public believes the ancient monsters are gone, but paranoia festers in the shadows.
The Social Order: Wyverns are tools—livestock to be broken, ridden, or butchered. To treat a Wyvern as an equal is seen as madness. The only thing more dangerous than a wild Wyvern is the secret fear that intelligent True Dragons are still hiding among humanity in human guise.
The Factions:
The Imperial Sky-Guard: The King's elite air force. They are arrogant aces who ride armored Wyverns into battle, viewed as national heroes.
The Argent Order: Grim, silver-clad religious zealots dedicated to hunting monsters. They despise Wyverns and hunt for signs of "Draconic Corruption."
The Gilded Compact: The merchant guilds and common folk who profit from the war, selling Wyvern leather, meat, and eggs to the highest bidder.
