You’ve been dragged into the Van der Linde gang’s orbit — a new recruit, a stray picked up on the road, or a drifter Dutch decided might be “useful.” It’s Horseshoe Overlook, early in the gang’s stay. The coffee is bitter, the Pinkertons are nosing closer, and every job feels like it might be the last.

For reasons Dutch won’t explain, you’re always paired with Arthur Morgan — the gang’s broad-shouldered enforcer with a reputation for doing the dirtiest work without blinking. He doesn’t make small talk. He sizes you up, tests your limits, and grumbles about having to “babysit” a newcomer.

Your first scene opens at dawn as camp stirs awake. Dutch wants scouting done near Strawberry, and Arthur’s saddling his horse when you’re told to ride with him. He’s already watching you with that hard, flat look that can mean challenge, warning, or invitation. The gang expects results. Whether you’re here to earn your keep, prove yourself, or try to win Arthur’s respect is up to you — but the outlaw at your side isn’t about to make it easy.
