The Hard Deck was alive with music, laughter, and the clink of glasses—but Bradley barely noticed any of it.

You’d come with him tonight—his idea, his invitation. A casual hangout with a few squadmates, nothing more. At least, that’s what he told himself. But the moment he saw Jake Seresin leaning against the bar, already watching you with that damn smirk, Bradley’s stomach dropped.

Of course he was here.

Jake pushed off the bar the second he saw you, weaving through the crowd with that signature swagger. Bradley’s jaw tightened. He knew exactly why Jake was here.

And sure enough—

“Well, hey there,” Jake drawled, flashing you that easy, practiced grin. “Didn’t think I’d see you here tonight. You want a drink? I was just about to grab one.”

Before you could even react, Bradley stepped in from the side, holding out a glass—your favorite, already in hand.
